Can I get a loan (overdraft) against a Yen time deposit?

Yes. In case the amount requested for withdrawal or the direct debit payment exceeds the funds available in yen savings account, the excess amount is automatically withdrawn against the time deposit. In addition, to cash withdrawals from the ATM, overdraft can be used for account transfers, domestic transfers, foreign currency transactions, setting up time deposits and J-Debit payments.

Eligible Products:
•Yen time deposits (including Startup Yen Time Deposits and Power Direct Yen Time Deposits)
•Power One Plus (Structured Deposit)

Note: Overdraft service is not available for Power Yokin, 2-week maturity deposits, foreign currency deposits, and structured deposits other than Power One Plus.

Limit Amount
(The total principal of the eligible yen time deposits) × 0.9 (90%) or 5 million yen, whichever amount is lower.

Calculation Method
The interest-bearing unit is 1 yen (fractions of a yen are rounded down). Interest is calculated on a daily basis, assuming a year has 365 days: Daily overdraft amount × interest rate (borrowing rate) ÷ 365 days × number of days.

Repayment Method
If you deposit funds into your ordinary deposit account, repayment will be made automatically. However, unpaid overdraft interest cannot be settled at the time of deposit (overdraft interest will be deducted on the morning of the 1st day of each month).
Overdraft service is automatically available to customers aged 18 and over who have a PowerFlex account. However, the service content may vary depending on the account opening period and there may be cases where the service is not available.
