The PowerFlex account is available to customers residing in Japan and only one account is allowed per customer.

Ineligibilities【Non-residents of Japan】
•Those who have "diplomatic", "official", or "short-term" visa status.
•Those who have resided less than 6 months after entering Japan and who are not working or studying in Japan.

Who can open an account【Residents of Japan】
The following conditions are required for potential account holders:

●To open an account, customers must be able to understand either Japanese or English, as all terms and services are provided exclusively in these two languages.

●Potential customers must be residents of Japan.
PO box addresses will not be accepted.

●Own a personal Japanese contact (telephone) number.
The phone number at your workplace or someone else's phone number will not be accepted.

●For our international customers: The following requirement for status will also apply for our international customers.
(Customers must satisfy either category A or B or C)

A) Those who have "Permanent Resident", "Spouse or Child of Japanese National" , "Spouse or Child of Permanent Resident" visa status.

OR

B) International customers who have resided in Japan for over 6 months or more., OR working in a company with an office located in Japan.

OR

C) International customers who have resided in Japan for less than 6 months: Applications will be accepted if the application form includes details of your current or intended place of employment, study abroad institution, or academic enrollment.
* Your employer must be a company with an office located in Japan. This excludes part-time jobs.

●Please note joint accounts and corporate account services are not available at SBI Shinsei Bank.

●Customers who are classified as Foreign Politically Exposed Persons will be required to open their account in person at the branch.

●Please note that the identification documents for customers who are 18 years old or older will differ from customers who are under 18 years old.
